As far as corny Japanese horror goes, it's not a bad series. Have to say I much prefer the 2nd one to the first. Thats where this particular scene came from. Chiharu was stuck in the house with croaky old Kayako crawling up behind her, while her friend was on the other side of the door. The only thing impeding Chiharu from getting out was the fact that the door was chained.. from the inside. I could never figure that bit out, hence the piss-take. Can't wait til No3 comes out ^^.

lol. i guess if it's chained from the inside, then those who are outside can't get in. and since everyone's stuck in the house and can't really get out, then it's perfectly fine chaining the inside because they can't really fuck around with the chain to begin with. or at least that's how i see it. [shrugs]
