Can dreams cross over into reality?

Do you believe in things that seem to defy explanation? I myself never really have but lately I'm not so sure. Strange things have been happening recently.

Such a thing happened last night and I'm writing this down to record it.

I had an odd, slightly disturbing dream last night. In it, I was kneeling down on the grass of our top orchard. In front of me were something like ten possums. Three large, obviously mature ones were sitting on their haunches about 5 metres in front of me while the remainder were running in erratic circles around these three, as if in a frenzy, and were making panicky noises. The three sitting on their haunches were all facing myself, staring at me with those enormous possum eyes. They looked for all the world like they were pleading for something. I had the distinct impression they were the possum group's elders. The circling possums seemed to get even more panicky and moved in increasingly erratic ways. Then from somewhere came an agonizing.. shreik, I guess would be the word. At that, the dream faded. I remembered the dream quite clearly when I woke and when I saw my father this morning I told
him about it.

My father looked quite surprised after I mentioned the dream to him and admitted that he had had a nightmare last night. He had woken up in the early hours of the morning still grunting and groaning as though he had been using a lot of effort. I laughed and asked why. What had he been dreaming? He said that he had dreamt he had been fighting a possum, trying to beat it to death with a stick.

How odd I thought. We both dreamed of possums on the same night.

What really freaked me out was when I went up to the orchard just before (out of curiosity) and found a newly dead possum lying among the plum trees, in the longish grass. It was the same place as I had dreamed about. It appears to have been struck around the head.

Here, we normally dispose of dead possums by throwing them unceremoniously on a fire. This possum, however, I think I will bury..

I kid you not. This just happened last night/this morning.

Maybe Halloween decided to came a couple of days early.. O_o;;

A Sucker for Punishment

Well.. so much for my new found freedom. I decided to return and do a graphic design/web design course. I've been on it for a week so far. Bah. I miss my old tutor. This new one is kinda.. ditzy. She didn't even tell me our class has half a day off on Fridays. Heres me sitting at my comp wondering where the hell the other people are.

'Oh! You're still here..'
'Well, yeah.. Why?'
'Everyone else has left.'
'WTF?'

One good thing though. I'm now employed part time at a graphic design company that designs and makes wide format posters. At least its a start towards what I want to do.

I have no social life now. It's official.

Two weeks to go.

Yup. Two more weeks to go until I'm a free man again. All I have to do is pass this last unit on my course. I fairly freaked out a couple weeks ago when I realised I was just about finished timewise and still had three units to pass. A couple of distractionless (yes, games, everything) weeks and I'm sitting here working on my last assessment. It's a holiday here, kinda like spring break, but for the last couple days all I've done is slept.

I guess I must have been tired.

I wasn't too impressed last week when my classful of cackling female co-students were going on in class about their male-based injustices regarding their respective love-lives (tutor included -_-). I coughed and made a few strident comments valiantly trying to keep my genders rep up but they just laughed. Kim, the girl opposite me leaned around her computer, chuckled and said 'You don't count. You're an honorary girl.'

Farking great.. I protested vehemently. Mass laughter ensued. (I should mention that theres only two guys in my class.. and the other guy was away >< )

I have a plan though. At lunchtime on the day I leave, I'm going to stay in and pretend I'm still working. I will then copy a nasty hentai pic to everones computers with a big happy 'see ya! overlaid, and make it their desktop background. Then I will run. Fast. And hope I still get my qualifications. Haha.

Bah.. Back to work, I guess.
